There's one beauty trend it's safe to say is going nowhere: fresh, dewy skin. And it's easy to see why! No matter how dramatic the eye or lip look you pair with it is, your entire vibe feels effortless. But if you don't already have "perfect" skin to begin with, getting the look can involve lots of layers of makeup–and ironically, the more makeup you layer, the more likely it is to become cake-y and fake-looking.

If you've ever struggled with acne, you know how essential foundation can feel to covering breakouts, and ultimately, how essential it can be to your self-esteem. But what if we told you you can achieve flawless-looking skin with concealer alone? Watch our tutorial below to learn exactly how to pull it off, or keep reading for a step-by-step.

How To Cover Pimples Without Foundation

HOW TO COVER BREAKOUTS WITHOUT FOUNDATION

1. Do your eye makeup and lips first. Seeing these features amplified will prevent you from overdoing it on coverage.

2. Dot a medium- or high-coverage concealer onto blemishes.

3. Grab a concealer brush to blend. Use a tapping motion on pimples, then buff around the edges of them to make it look seamless with the rest of your skin.

4. Add blush, bronzer, and highlighter. We find that lightly brushing on powder formulas is the method least likely to disturb concealer.

5. Go in a final time with more concealer on any areas where your blush, bronzer, or highlighter pulled away the product.
